  • 1.  Looking for Academic Developmental Editors

    Posted yesterday

    Hello, all

I'm an academic copyeditor and line editor (I also do other nonfiction editing) looking to get to know academic developmental editors. Black academic developmental editors in particular are hard to find, and I get quite a few inquiries from academics/scholars looking for DEs. It's just not what I do, and I really hate having to pass along general information about directories and databases to help potential clients find the right editor. I want to be able to pass along editors' names and businesses, giving authors some specific options for their search. So, for me, that means getting to know a bit about those DEs and their work.

Are there any academic developmental editors who are interested in meeting up for a phone or video chat sometime to get to know each other? If so, please reach out! I'd love to hear from you!! And if you know any BIPOC academic DEs who aren't EFA members, feel free to pass along my contact info if they're interested in connecting.

    Thanks!

    Warmly,

    Dana
