Born and raised in North Carolina, I have now spent half my life in Germany, where I work as a freelance translator and editor of academic scholarship in history and related fields. In 2008 I completed my PhD in early modern European history with a dissertation on religious dissidence in Hesse, and along the way I put down roots in Hesse and have been here ever since!
