Founder & Editor,
Client-First Editing

Bio

Hello! I'm a freelance editor with over six years of experience and training. I started my career editing policy papers for a think tank working with the United Nations and have since moved into supporting academics and nonfiction authors in a range of topics including history, sociology, international development, dentistry, and immunology. My goal with editing is to communicate critiques in a way that helps the author grow and develop their writing to be the best it can be. I want the authors I work with to feel more confident in their current and future writing as a result of our work together. To do this, I adapt my editing style and services based on the client's needs.

Having trouble organizing your argument? Let's work through an outline together. Worried your wording is confusing or unclear? I'll give suggestions to untangle and clarify your thoughts. Don't have time to check that all your references are formatted correctly? I'll re-format your references and also verify full titles, author names, dates, journal volumes, and issue numbers while I'm at it. I edit articles submitted to academic journals, especially those in the revise & resubmit phase, dissertations, grant proposals, and personal statements for college, graduate school, and fellowship applications.

If you're interested in working with me, I would love to hear from you! Please reach out through my website or through my business email Meredith@ClientFirstEditing.com.
