I edit for academic and nonfiction authors of all levels of expertise. Just as water spreads a condensed ink drop to bring a painting to a new level of expression in ink wash painting, editing is a temporary collaboration with the ink of the author, allowing ideas to blossom and spread. 

I am trained in the cultural history and literature of modern China. My doctorate is from East Asian Languages and Civilizations at the University of Chicago (2017). Just as my field sits at the intersection of disciplines, I specialize in helping authors whose work must speak to audiences across fields of study and levels of expertise. 

Experience: Ten+ years of independent editing and two years with AJE/Research Square Company, an agency affiliated with Springer Nature. 

Special expertise: Chinese humanities and social sciences (Yuan to current day). I can proofread and revise translations from Chinese to English in both modern and classical. I equally emphasize accessibility for target readers and respect for the source text.
