THE GETBOOKHELP.COM DIFFERENCE

Pricing is not hidden.

Instead of getting multiple invoices or having no idea what prices look like before you start interacting with us, we want to save your time and energy. On our website, the flat-rate pricing for each service is publicly available. You can even purchase your service and upload your manuscript directly from our website for even faster service delivery.

All projects begin immediately.

No waitlists or project scheduling necessary. Come to us the day you’re ready to purchase your service and we’ll get started the moment that both your payment and your manuscript are received.

This is because we have a team of editorial professionals as part of our network, so there is always someone available to begin grooming your manuscript, creating your cover, or drawing your illustrations.

No need for deposits. No need to wait weeks or months for your project to begin.

Owned and managed by a career author.

Unlike some editorial professionals, owner Tenesha L. Curtis is an author herself (author Amazon profile). This means she has up-to-date experience on what it’s like to publish a book in the current market. She brings this experience into each interaction with clients to help increase their chances of the kind of success they’ve been hoping for in the publishing world.

Specializing in working with first-time authors.

Tenesha’s background as a psychotherapist has given her the interpersonal skills needed to gently and patiently guide even the greenest of authors through the entire book development process. This same compassion and respect is shown even to seasoned authors who decide to partner with Get Book Help.

Custom, flexible payment plans.

Low-income writers deserve access to quality services, too! We'll work with you to create a custom payment plan that will allow you to make payments that are comfortable for your budget at a rate that is easy on your wallet.

A comprehensive service experience.

When working with a single freelancer, you’re limited to what that lone person can do based on their schedule, workload, and skill set. By partnering with all of the professionals involved with Get Book Help, we serve you from the early stages of conceptualizing and outlining your book, on through to promoting and publishing the finished product.

No need to shop for a new service provider whenever it’s time to move on to a new book development step (see all offered services below).

OUR SERVICES

Book Planning Help

  • Book coaching: Consultation about strategies for your specific project and goals. Writing instruction can be added to this service as desired.

  • Outline creation: Speaking with you about your book’s vision and helping you organize your thoughts related to that vision. This allows you to hit the ground running on writing a solid first draft that is well organized, reducing how much cleanup is needed after the first draft is done.

  • Outline review: Critiquing and outline you've already created to improve content organization, plot flow, character development, and reader expectation management. Both book and screenplay outlines are welcome.

Book Writing Help

  • Typing: Send us your scanned or copied, handwritten pages and we will type them up for you.

  • Transcription: Send us your voice recording and we will transcribe the audio for you.

  • Ghostwriting: Submit your outline and we will create the first draft of your manuscript.

Book Editing Help

  • Alpha reading: Send us your draft and we will provide an executive summary of feedback to help guide your next round of self revisions.

  • Manuscript evaluation: Send us your draft and we will provide a publication readiness rubric, executive summary of feedback, and in-line notes covering the problems with the piece and recommendations for repairing them. This gives you more "hand-holding" for the next round of self-revisions, making it especially helpful for first-time authors or authors writing in a new genre.

  • Developmental editing: We do a manuscript evaluation in order to create an editing plan to show you all that we suggest changing, then work with you to complete two full developmental editing passes to restructure the basic elements of your piece, making sure extraneous or confusing material is removed, missing content is added, and the book is structured in a way that provides and clear, engaging read for your audience.

  • Copyediting: We review your entire manuscript for grammatical problems such as misspelled words, missing words, inappropriate punctuation, and usage based on the Chicago Manual of Style and your project-specific style guide.

  • Beta reading: Send us your nearly print-ready text and we'll provide you with likely reader reactions as well as tips for promoting the content of the book through free and paid means, including content pulls for creating marketing materials.

Book Design Help

  • Illustrations: We use your desired image concepts to create mockups, line art, and final illustrations for your book’s interior. Great for children's books, promotional graphics for social media, character art, how-to guides, and similar work.

  • Cover design: We work with you to create a book cover that suits your genre and content. Typographical book covers (using only text, color, and layout to reflect the genre and attract buyer attention, but no graphics), composite book covers (creating a cover image using composite graphics based on your design specs, and designing the cover text around that), and custom-illustrated book covers (a custom image created for your cover and cover text designed around that) are all available.

  • Book design: We format your book to display well on digital devices and print appropriately as paperback and hardcover books, then apply design principals that fit your personal preferences and genre while still maintaining readability.

Book Publishing Services

  • Publishing assistance: Via phone or video call, we walk you step-by-step through the process of uploading your publish-ready files to Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing platform or IngramSpark. This service includes on-call tech support for 30 days after the files are uploaded in case you get an error that you don't understand or need to make changes to your submission.

  • Proofreading: We review your entire finished product in order to flag stubborn errors that have made it through the previous book development processes. You then get the opportunity to determine which of the flagged elements you'd like to change if you think they are worth the time, cost, and effort it takes to do so.

  • Book promotion: We share your book with our network of nearly 30,000 readers including our social media followers and (paid and free) subscribers on platforms like Patreon and Substack.
