I'm Meena, a developmental editor dedicated to helping authors refine their stories from the ground up, specialising in SFF and Dark Academia. I also have a background in Biology for academic editing.
Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved reading books. The ways the stories unfold, the unique worlds, and the small, intricate choices that give them life. That love grew into a deeper commitment to understanding how stories are constructed, and how they can be strengthened through thoughtful editing.
Before transitioning into freelance editing, I built a career in academic research (specifically in plant biology), where close reading, analytical thinking, and communicating complex ideas with clarity were part of my everyday work. Today, I bring those same skills to fiction, combining careful analysis with a genuine love of storytelling.
As a writer working on my debut novel, I know how vulnerable it feels to share your work, so I approach every manuscript with empathy and encouragement. I believe that stories deserve to be nurtured, develop strong roots, and given the space to grow into their fullest form. Whether you are building complex magic systems or navigating intimate character arcs, I provide the editorial guidance needed to help your narrative flourish.
