Editing is a big business, and not every editor will be suited to or want to provide every service. But there’s a lot to choose from, so how do we narrow it down? In this presentation, we’ll explore how to find our NICHE within the editing world, with NICHE standing for our:
Natural talents—the things we’re good at and develop through practice Interests—the topics, activities, and work we enjoy Characteristics—the attributes and qualities that make up our personalities Heart—the guiding principles that drive our decisions Environment—the marketing sphere where we’ll display our niche
After defining the NICHE framework, we’ll discover how other editors have used this in their marketing to build their business with a list of dream clients and projects. By the end of the program, you’ll feel confident that you can find editorial work that fulfills you and keeps your business running.
