If the idea of editing has you clutching your coffee cup a little tighter, fear not! I’m Rachel Clair, a developmental editor who provides gentle and actionable feedback, ideal for authors who find editing a bit scary or overwhelming.

I have a PhD in psychology (hello, character development and motivation) and an MFA in creative writing. My role is to help you refine your narrative by making sure your plot is engaging, characters are vibrant, dialogue sparkles with wit, and much more. With my background as a ghostwriter and book coach, I know how important it is to develop and maintain your unique author voice.

The main genres I edit are cozy mystery, paranormal romance, and urban fantasy. I have coached and edited self-help, memoir, and personal development, and occasionally take on these types of projects.
