You did it! You finished a manuscript! That’s no small feat. Go ahead, do a victory lap. (I’ll wait.)
Now comes the scary part: letting someone else touch your words. Gulp.
That’s where I come in. I’m a hands-on editor who makes many changes directly in the text to model clarity and craft—saving you time and showing you the why behind the edit. But don’t worry: every change is just a suggestion. You’re always in control.
Think of me as your editorial partner, a beacon offering smart edits, kind feedback, and support that keeps your voice at the center.
Your message deserves to shine. My job is to make sure nothing gets in the way, not awkward phrasing, not plot holes, not a rogue semicolon.
I don’t promise perfection. (I’m a human, not a bot. And let’s be real—human editors are way better than AI. We get your jokes and don’t delete your metaphors.) But I do promise this: a stronger manuscript, thoughtful feedback, and a hefty dose of resources to keep you leveling up.
Speaking of resources, I’ve got loads of them, and most are free! Webinars, downloads, blog posts, you name it. Check out my resource center and grab whatever you need.
When you're ready, reach out. I’ll be here, red pen in hand (metaphorically), cheering you on every step of the way.

A great book is two hands clapping. One is the writer; the other the editor. I have worked with a lot of top editors over the years and while they all have talent, the majority live in a world of their own timing they are not reliable. So while there may well be two hands clapping they don't clap at the same time which leads the writer into realms of frustration. Waiting, wondering and worrying. Not so with Katie Chambers. She is an excellent substantive editor and is prompt and reliable. A pleasure and a relief to work with. That being said the bottom line with any review is would you work with this person again? And the answer is a definite yes. And I will recommend her to my fellow authors and speakers. Thanks Katie. —Nicholas Boothman, New York Times Bestselling Author.
I was so fortunate to have Katie Chambers edit my memoir. She helped polish my story from editing the conventions of writing to addressing the content, style, and structure. I was impressed by how Katie gave brilliant suggested options to improve and strengthen the manuscript. She is very professional and gets the job done. As an editor, Katie is a true gatekeeper between the author and the reader. —Brett Preiss
The difference between the manuscript I handed to Katie and the one she handed back after she was done was night and day. I’d be ashamed to give away the raw manuscript for free. Now I've got a book worth reading and something I'm proud to put my name on. Katie is a professional and you can see it in her work. She's incredible at not only finding errors in grammar and punctuation but her ability to find holes in the plot, character development, and the overall flow of a fictional work (all while maintaining the voice of the author) is where she really shines. She is a find a problem provide a solution type of person that makes the editing process painless and stress-free. With Katie to pick up where I fall short, I can fully focus on what I do best: writing. —Cody Smith
