đź’¬ Say Hello / Intro Thread 9 R. Doci I don't think I ever intro'd myself, but my name's Erin and I live in Montclair, NJ. I've been freelancing for about four years now - I do line editing, copy editing, and proofreading. I've worked on books for PRH, Scholastic, LBYR, and Macmillan, among others. Always looking for ways to expand the business and bring on new clients. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Welcome to the new NYC Metro Chapter discussion board! 0 R. Doci Hi everyone, Welcome to the newly redesigned member portal—and to our fresh NYC Metro Chapter discussion board! I'm Rozi, one of your chapter coordinators, and I wanted to say hello and help us get things started. This forum is here for us to connect—ask questions, share resources, swap stories, and support each other. To kick things off, I’ll be posting a few starter threads to spark conversation and help us get to know one another. You're more than welcome to create your own topics too. —Rozi NYC Metro Chapter Coordinator

Upcoming publishing events 2 J. Gazis Here's another book-related event this weekend, via Sagging Meniscus Press. Their list is pretty eclectic; I got a wonderful new translation of some Buddhist sutras at the Brooklyn Book Fair two years ago. "Late-breaking news: the ninth annual Indie Lit Fair, co-presented by the PEN World Voices Festival and the Community of Literary Magazines and Presses (CLMP), will take place this year on Saturday May 3rd from noon to 5pm on a stretch of holy NYC sidewalk between Astor Place and Joe’s Pub on Lafayette Street in the East Village. It will be free, bustling and full of discovery, and Sagging Meniscus will have a table with books you can buy, giveaways for those who will record a short reading, and … a MYSTERY OULIPIAN ACTIVITY which actually we haven’t figured out yet. (If you have any suggestions drop us a line.) There will be probably be interesting authors around to sign books. And you’re interesting, too, so it will be a good time."My Saturdays are usually pretty full of prior commitments, so I doubt I'll make it. If you're curious, "Oulipian" means things like writing a whole piece without using certain letters. (I had to look it up.)Note: click "reply using full editor" BEFORE typing anything, or you'll lose whatever you've already typed!
