As a generalist with expertise mainly in the humanities and social sciences, I work in most non-technical subject areas, including anthropology, archaeology, architecture, art and art history, biblical studies and theology, biography, Christianity, communication (media) studies, cultural studies, diaries/letters, dictionaries, education, English and world literature, environment, film and theatre, geography (human), history, literary criticism and theory, literary history, museum studies, philosophy, politics, popular science, sociology, South-east Asia, and world literature.
I have been a freelancer editor for almost four decades and have extensive experience of copyediting and proofreading different kinds of publications, including academic books, reference works (dictionaries, bibliographies, and multivolume encyclopedias), illustrated books, exhibition catalogues, journals, reports, and websites. My clients have included Bodleian Library Publishing, British Art Studies, Council of Europe, Ideas on Fire, Lars Müller Publishers, Oxford University Press, Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art, SPCK, Thames & Hudson, University of London Press, and Wiley Blackwell.
