As a developmental editor, I focus on big-picture elements, like plot, tone, conflict, point of view, theme, characters, and setting. This means that I edit at the story level, rather than addressing grammar, punctuation, or syntax.
During the onboarding process, I'll ask you to fill out a detailed questionnaire. I use this form as a guide while I edit, ensuring that I tailor my critique to your specific needs. I view the editor-author relationship as symbiotic, unified by the common goal of strengthening a story for its release into the world.
