I spent several rewarding years teaching English, Spanish, and creative writing, where I worked side‑by‑side with budding writers, helping them shape ideas and strengthen their skills. That hands‑on support for students became the foundation of my editorial craft, so moving from the classroom to manuscript revisions felt like a natural progression.
My first foray into the publishing world came in 2017, when I was polishing machine‑embroidery design listings—a surprisingly effective way to develop an eye for detail. By 2019, I was working on full‑blown manuscripts and soon became deputy chief editor at a boutique self‑publishing house. There, I not only enhanced authors’ books but also mentored junior editors, applying the collaborative, supportive approach I’d honed as a teacher to the publishing environment.
Now I work independently, focusing on the projects that truly excite me. I edit across a wide variety of genres, but I especially love clean fiction I can share with my family after it’s published—children’s books, fantasy, and sweet romance for middle‑grade, YA, new‑adult, and adult audiences.
I’ve had the privilege of working on award‑winning titles such as 𝐵𝑒𝑡𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑇ℎ𝑎𝑛 𝑂𝑢𝑟 𝐷𝑜𝑔𝑠 and 𝑀𝑎𝑛 𝑁𝑎: 𝐴 𝐷𝑎𝑖𝑙𝑦 𝐺𝑢𝑖𝑑𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝐵𝑒𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑆𝑎𝑙𝑡 𝐺𝑜𝑑 𝐼𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑑 by John J. Murray Jr., and I especially enjoy partnering with new authors—mentoring them gently while keeping their unique voices front and center.
As a proud member of the Editorial Freelancers Association, I see myself as a friendly guide rather than a gatekeeper. Building warm, lasting relationships with authors is at the heart of what I do; I want every writer I collaborate with to feel heard, valued, and eager to bring their story to life.
