Upcoming publishing events

My long-term client Pratt Institute is having a cool book fair the last weekend of April.

Unfortunately, I have prior commitments, but if you're free, why not check out the book fair and the many outdoor sculptures around campus?

Thanks for sharing! Pratt is only about 20 minutes from me, so I'll be sure to check it out!

Here's another book-related event this weekend, via Sagging Meniscus Press. Their list is pretty eclectic; I got a wonderful new translation of some Buddhist sutras at the Brooklyn Book Fair two years ago.

"Late-breaking news: the ninth annual Indie Lit Fair, co-presented by the PEN World Voices Festival and the Community of Literary Magazines and Presses (CLMP), will take place this year on Saturday May 3rd from noon to 5pm on a stretch of holy NYC sidewalk between Astor Place and Joe’s Pub on Lafayette Street in the East Village. It will be free, bustling and full of discovery, and Sagging Meniscus will have a table with books you can buy, giveaways for those who will record a short reading, and … a MYSTERY OULIPIAN ACTIVITY which actually we haven’t figured out yet. (If you have any suggestions drop us a line.) There will be probably be interesting authors around to sign books. And you’re interesting, too, so it will be a good time."

My Saturdays are usually pretty full of prior commitments, so I doubt I'll make it. If you're curious, "Oulipian" means things like writing a whole piece without using certain letters. (I had to look it up.)

Note: click "reply using full editor" BEFORE typing anything, or you'll lose whatever you've already typed!
