Your voice is important, and you (and your readers) deserve a work that is as close to your vision as possible.

Preferred Genres: Horror & Romance

Presenter at ACES VCON24 and ACES Salt Lake City 2025

More than 400 manuscripts edited

Editing clients that include Hachette Book Group, Penguin Random House, Catapult, Lake Union, Thomas & Mercer, and indie authors

As a copy editor, I help authors produce high-quality manuscripts by preserving the author's voice and addressing grammar, spelling, punctuation, consistency, continuity, and style issues. Because authors are so close to their work, they always benefit from a fresh review, and I offer a wealth of experience that includes work on more than 400 books for publishers and indie authors.

I work in service of you, your readers, and the manuscript itself to put the best possible book into the world. A very small number of those who set out to write a book complete that task, so you've already accomplished something spectacular, and I can help you take that further step toward publishing the book of your dreams.

I particularly enjoy working on horror and romance (including extreme horror and open-door romance). I have worked on New York Times bestselling books from major authors and have edited manuscripts for such prestigious publishers as Hachette Book Group, Penguin Random House, and Catapult.

The editing community brings me joy, and I belong to professional organizations such as the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA), ACES: The Society for Editing, and PEN. In addition, I am the founder of the mastermind group Pens & Pilcrows, dedicated to supporting fellow editors and continuing our development in this wonderful craft.

With any copyedit, I track changes in the author's manuscript, generally in accordance with the Chicago Manual of Style and Merriam-Webster. I also provide a style sheet with the general guidelines for editing, a word list with proper nouns and manuscript-specific stylings, a character list with character details, and a chapter breakdown/timeline, helpful for addressing continuity issues.

I celebrate writers and am thankful to be a part of authors' journeys. Let me know how I can help you!
