I’m the owner of Artful Editor, an editorial agency dedicated to helping writers of all levels polish their manuscripts for publication.
Originally from Hawaii, I began my career at Manoa, an award-winning literary journal, where I honed my editorial skills as an assistant editor. In 2010, after moving to California, I started Artful Editor.
I have an MFA in creative writing from the Iowa Writers Workshop and a BA in English from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. I’m also certified in group facilitation through the Transformative Language Arts Network and have taught creative writing to people of all ages.
Whether you’re self-publishing or submitting your manuscript to literary agents and traditional publishers, I will guide you every step of the way until you get into print.
Our editorial team includes developmental editors, line editors, copyeditors, proofreaders, and writing coaches. We’ve edited for major publishers, including the Big Four, and for university and small presses. Several of us are published authors, and a few of us have worked at literary agencies.
