Alysa Loring (pronouns she/her) is a professional freelance editor, writer, and book coach. She works primarily with writers of KidLit, K–12 curriculum, and academic publications. Whether you need an in-depth line edit, a structural overhaul, or someone to praise the best of what you’ve written, her services will help you achieve your goals.

Alysa is a trained and experienced educator and researcher; before becoming a freelancer, she worked as an editor, writer, researcher, and K–12 teacher. She has degrees in English and French (BA), cultural anthropology (MA), and education (MEd).

With over 20+ years of editing and writing experience, Alysa has written, edited, designed, and translated numerous materials—including children’s books, academic publications, K–12 educational materials, and large-scale international science documents.

Outside of the written word, Alysa can be found enjoying the outdoors with her family and dog, practicing yoga, or creating art! She is always interested in new opportunities and looks forward to learning more about your editing and writing needs.
