Hi, I’m Ellie! I’m a developmental and copy editor specializing in narrative nonfiction and literary fiction. REAL picky about grammar, but never judgmental. To me, all writing should be as tight and concise as possible while still allowing the author freedom and joy. As a writer, I know how horribly vulnerable it can be to share your work, and I appreciate the struggle.
I typically don’t edit hard sci-fi, romance, or action, but if you have a more general or academic project and need some brainstorming, grammar correction, or even something as extensive as a rewrite, let’s talk!! I am also available for authenticity/sensitivity readings, offering a queer POV.
I’m usually reading Japanese fiction, but my all-time favorite authors are Jon Krakauer, Melissa Border, and Un-Su Kim. I grew up and reside in Asheville, NC, and spend my free time seeing movies in the theater. Letterboxd available upon request!
