I'm all about the words. As a substantive, developmental, and line editor for 30+ years, I have helped clients around the world refine and polish their writing. My specialty is working with independent authors in a wide range of both fiction and nonfiction genres, from memoir and spirituality to fantasy and thriller. Business clients have included Infinity Foundation, US Soccer, Simtek Corporation, Colorado Springs Business Journal, Hewlett-Packard, and Boys and Girls Club of the Pikes Peak Region.
My professional background encompasses work in nonprofit as well as commercial businesses, from assistant editor to communications manager. I am proficient in the Chicago Manual of Style and the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association.
Fun things to know about me: I love animals, especially cats, dogs, and horses. Having lived in three different states—Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Colorado—I enjoy the outdoors but miss the South’s azaleas and dogwoods in spring bloom. Camping in the mountains is great although Colorado winters are two months too long for me.
One of the highlights of my life was seeing the total solar eclipse in 2017. I read incessantly and am dangerous with a camera in my hands. My preferences include chocolate (the darker the better), Earl Grey tea hot or iced (never coffee), classical music (especially Beethoven), and spaghetti with my homemade marinara sauce. I collect nutcrackers and sharks’ teeth.
