Benjamin Goodney has edited magazines, books, creative writing, and articles for more than a decade, covering fiction, poetry, memoir, creative nonfiction, white papers, and academic writing in the humanities and social sciences. He loves a line edit, but regularly copy edits and coaches writers through development of longer projects, especially in non-traditional or marginalized contexts. He edits a Pushcart Award-winning literary arts journal and has special interests in language, philosophy (MA, U. of Illinois Urbana–Champaign), maieutic learning, and the histories of myth, magic, and radical politics. Ben works with writers at any point in a project and at any career stage; his practice is author-driven, and therefore tailored to the needs of each text. His preference is for projects requiring depth of care more than meeting very short deadlines.
