The Friday Bookshelf

Posted By Ginny Ruths, Friday, April 25, 2025
What are you reading this week? Books can be for pleasure, for work, for school, whatever. Just comment with the name of the book and something you like or don't like about. No judgment here! This week I'm immersed in "Remarkably Bright Creatures" by Shelby Van Pelt. A fun and engaging read, easy to pick up and read a couple of chapters at bedtime.

I'm about to finish Zero Days by Ruth Ware. It's a fast-paced mystery. Kind of light, but it is just what I need at this time!

Still reading Machines of Evolution and the Scope of Meaning (Gary Tomlinson). It's philosophy of biology and Tomlinson is navigating how the natural/biological world can transfer information (e.g., bee dances) and when that information conveys meaning to the creatures transmitting/receiving that information.

I'm in the middle of The Travelling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikawa. It's very sweet and the cat (Nana) has a terrific sense of humor.
